We have focused most of our attention on the pavilion (kitchen) since last fall. As such, I have broken out this section into sections so the pages load faster.
- Framing the three exhaust fans, which required us to position the cabinets so we knew exactly where the exhaust needed to go.
- Installing interior walls, we opted to go with wood underlayment instead of drywall, feeling it would be easier.
Below we are working on trim and spackle in preparation for painting, something we expect to get done next weekend. Because the building isn't square (we made a fundemental mistake in not ensuring that the top of the posts were plumb when we attached the roof, what a bone headed mistake!) there is a large wedge-shaped gap between the roof and the walls. Even though we filled in with long skinny wedges, we felt it was better to cover up the mistake with trip, so got a nice wide crown molding for that spot. Then, on the ceiling, we decided to cover up the gaps around the panels with trim and hopefully get a nice accent for our trouble. I experimented with spackling the walls and that seems to have worked out well, so we decided to go with that there.
