Yep, we worked right through the winter. Lemme tell you, it could get really bitter when that wind picked up!.

We had to cover the holes up with insulation because you can't pour concrete on frozen ground and any time the ground freezes the thawed dirt needs to be removed so the concrete rests on undisturbed soil. Not only were there not very many hours of daylight during the winter, but uncovering and recovering the holes could take a couple of hours (if we did a lot at once, we learned to just work on a couple at a time).
