We initially intended to pour all the footers at the same time, but the 10 days we had alotted for the work just wasn't anywhere enough to get ready (we probably would have needed twice that), so we decided to pour everything _but_ the pool footers. In almost all the cases we used the wooden forms we built, though in retrospect we could have made our lives easier by just using the dirt as the form. Two of the footers on the greenhouse were set in stone and a few rested on stone (which often required jackhammering or 'chemical rock removal' to reach the appropriate depth). There were even a couple that we had to fill in with gravel because removing the rock left huge holes along the edge. I opted to use a concrete pumper to place the concrete rather than attempt to use a wheelbarrow. Except for miscalculating the amount of concrete (I later found a flaw in the spreadsheet that I used to do the calculations) everything went pretty much according to plan (a very rare circumstance in my projects, in general, and this project specifically). Pretty much all I had to do was guide the tube that came off the pumper, the driver then moved the boom around to the holes. I did get covered with little drops of concrete (it doesn't taste so great either), that stuff comes flying out of the pipe! On the main page for this update are links to Youtube videos I uploaded if you want to see some 'live' action.

Now we are starting on pouring the footers for the pool. We decided to ditch the idea of the forms since almost all the footers were in solid rock anyway. We used sand bags to shore up the sides (in some places we didn't get deep enough and lacked the time (or inclination in most cases) to go deeper) as well as brace the boards holding the 'booties'.

We decided to mark the footer Bong helped prepare, though sadly no one will ever see it as it is at the bottom of the pool.
